ITA - WINE-GROWING REGION: SOUTH TYROL /

Anyone looking for the first time at the range of Klaus Lentsch, whose winery is situated in St. Pauls, will be a little surprised. There are only a few winegrowers in the South Tyrolean wine world who, even geographically, have such diverse vineyards. Klaus Lentsch himself comes from Branzoll, the so-called Unterland. The acquisition of a vineyard in the Eisack Valley, interesting above all because of the old vines there, was the first step towards this diversity. Although one might think it would be a manageable distance, it does take some effort to bring the two strands to fruition. It certainly helped that Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer and Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir) were used in the Valle Isarco, which are often present in the winegrowers' own vineyards (Buschenschänken), but otherwise played a rather subordinate role there for a long time. The new construction of his winery in St. Pauls also turned out to be a stroke of luck. The steep vineyards there require a lot of laborious manual work, but as we dare to say after the tasting, it is worth it in any case.

The opening hours listed refer to the vinotheque, which is open from April to September. If you only want to visit the winery, we advise you to call in advance. The premises of the Vinothek can also be booked for festivities.
