RESTAURANT & ART MUSEUM - REGION HESSEN; PROVINCE DARMSTADT /

The Opel Villas were once purchased or built by a descendant of the famous Adam Opel. The first of the two villas was built in 1916 and was initially used by the director Wilhelm Wenke. In 1931/32, Fritz Opel built the second villa, connected the two villas with a winter garden and lived in them until 1938. Used as a hospital until 1956, the villas came into the possession of the city of Rüsselsheim in 1955, which continued to use them as a public meeting place in the form of the district court until 1995. It has remained a meeting place to this day, although the decision to do so was only made in 1998. In addition to the possibility of marrying there, today the premises are also used for artistic events. The style differs somewhat, and in addition to the fine arts on the one hand, the culinary arts have also been given a beautiful ambience in the form of a restaurant. If one were to expect a gourmet restaurant in other places, the cuisine here is clearly more popular, but not in the conventional sense. Under Italian guidance, there are good pasta dishes, pizzas to keep the family peace, and nice main courses of the most diverse varieties on a solid level. The price-performance level of the lunch menus is excellent, which is why we advise you to reserve the desired seats all day long, not only because of the very nice rooms and the terrace facing the Main. The furnishings on the terrace, possibly paid for out of the city's coffers, could still be improved.
